I loved everything about this Ryokan. It is an old style building, but well kept, clean and cosy. it has multiple rooms but felt very intimate and private. It is located approx. 20- minutes away by foot from the city center and offers a quiet and peaceful retreat experience. The room we got (originally a triple room with a private bathroom) was actually an apartment with 2 separate rooms, a toilet and a bathroom, in addition to the hallway. We got the eastern exposure in one of the rooms and we enjoyed the sunrise over the Alps, an amazing view :-). The private bath was was great, we travelled as a family of 3 and could enjoy some relaxation in the private atmosphere. We ordered the extra breakfast and it was a feast. Everything was fresh, delicious and local. The staff (owners) were extremely helpful and welcoming. We only stayed one night but I really wished we had more time there and I would love to come back some day.

Location was very nice, quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. The ryokan rooms we had were spacious and very clean. Had all the required toiletries and facilities, working fridge to keep your items and good air conditioning system. The futon beds were super comfy and I slept like a baby each night. I like the tea set and cookies we received daily too. The Premium Kaiseki we booked for an evening dinner was exceptional. It was a very good experience and the food was also outstanding. The staff were great and very friendly. The Onsen was small but clean and had clear instructions on what you should/shouldn’t do. Free parking spaces available but can walk to the centre for about 30mins+ approx, a good way to explore the place on foot.

The surroundings are so beautiful! I love that they have a free shuttle to take you from and to the station, but if you don’t make it on time for that, a taxi will cost around 10 usd. Also is less than 20 min walk. They include a Yukata, tea and delicious cookies in the bedroom, and let us use the private Onsen. The breakfast in the morning is huge and amazing and delicious, I highly recommend to get it. I love that have laundry and a nice map of the Ryokan so you don’t get lost. The host are so friendly and kind and fun. We had a great time and for sure would love to go back and stay there again. Highly recommended.

Large bedroom and a good sized sitting area with western chairs . Comfortable tatami beds and very traditional old family Ryokan run by Murayama San and his family. Very clean and the private onsen facilities for a couple are just what you need for an hour a day . The onsen facility for couples is very private and quiet and very relaxing . The views from two of the rooms are good . The food prepared by the owner was excellent quality , very good Hida beef, local fish , good standard sashimi, egg custard soup and several other interesting small dishes . Good selection of hot and cold sake .

The room was exquisitely designed, blending contemporary amenities with traditional Japanese aesthetics. The tatami floors complemented the elegant paper shoji screens, allowing soft, diffused light to fill the space. As for the dinner, it was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Each dish was artfully arranged, showcasing vibrant colors and intricate presentations. The flavors were carefully balanced, with every bite revealing layers of taste that celebrated the finest ingredients. The experience was truly delightful, creating a perfect harmony between beauty and gastronomy.
